fire resistant glass range in the UK

C3S Securiglass offer a full range of fire resistant glasses covering a full spectrum of fire resistant performance requirements. Some products are carried in stock for immediate delivery. Others are manufactured to size. All our products meet British Standard BS476 Pt22 and have or have been tested to the new European Standards.

integrity only

Pyrocet is a non-wired fire resistant glass that has a metallic coating on both sides to reflect away heat and minimise the possibility of thermal shock.

The metallic coating assists Pyrocet in performing consistently, regardless of the direction of the fire attack. It is a 6mm float glass product of exceptional clarity and surface quality.

features and benefits

Pyrocet conforms to Safety Glass Standard BS6206 Class A and is covered by Certifire third party specification. When it is tested to meet the requirements of BS476 Pt22, it is capable of achieving up to 30 minutes integrity in timber and up to 30, 60 and 90 minutes in steel. It can be installed in both internal and
external locations.

applications

• Internal partitioning
• Fire Doors
• Atria
• External curtain walling
• Smoke screens

integrity and insulation

Pyrobel is composed of float glass and intumescent interlayers, when it is subjected to fire, it creates a barrier to prevent the passage of heat or smoke as well as hot gases.

The glass turns opaque during a fire, reducing the likelihood of panic and eliminating the chance of combustion through radiated heat of flammable items on the side opposite to the seat of the fire.

features and benefits

Pyrobel can provide between 30 and 120 minutes, integrity and insulation. It can meet the requirements of BS476: Part 22 for up to 120 minutes. The full range of Pyrobel, available up to 25mm thick, for up to one hour integrity and insulation is carried in stock.

applications

• Internal partitioning
• Timber and steel doors and sidescreens
• Fire Doors
• External curtain walling
• Atria

Pyrobel forms only part of a fire resistant system - it is the responsibility of the user to ensure that the system as a whole satisfies current regulations. It is also necessary to obtain the system approvals from the appropriate authorities.

integrity / low radiation

Pyrobelite, like Pyrobel, is composed of float glass and interlayers, built up to the necessary thickness to meet the specified fire resistance.

When it is subjected to fire, the interlayers become opaque and intumesce.

The importance of the intumescent interlayers is that radiated heat could cause combustion on the non-fire side of the screen is reduced, enabling a safe and panic free evacuation of the building.

features and benefits

This glass ranges in thickness from 7mm (internal) to 11mm for external applications. It can meet 30 minutes integrity and reduced radiation, fulfilling the requirements of BS476: Part 22. A new addition to the range is 12mm pyrobelite which gives 60mm integrity and reduced radiation.

Pyrobelite is available for both internal and external applications and in single or doubled glazed form. It can be shaped into intricate designs which doesn't detract from its performance.

applications

• Fire doors
• Fire screens and windows
• Internal partitioning
• Atria
• Timber and steel doors and sidescreens

combined fire resistant and security glass

Pyrosec is a new modified toughened 19mm fire resistant/physical attack resistant glass. It has been developed for use in the UK's most secure institutions as vision panels in doors, side screens and walls.

features and benefits

It is capable of achieving up to 60 minute integrity (size dependent) and can stand severe physical attack without failure.

It is designated as an A Class Safety Glass to BS6206.

applications

• Vision panels in doors
• Side screens and doors
• Detention Centres
• Secure areas within Hospitals

smokestream glazed smoke curtains

Smokestream passive glazed smoke curtains form a permanent barrier to control the spread of smoke. It has been tested to both the BS476 Standard to ensure that it maintains integrity and also achieves B7346 as standard.

Designed specifically for smoke curtains, the smokestream system combines a modified, toughened fire resistant glass, Pyrocet, with a glazing system designed and tested to provide a permanent passive smoke curtain.

It is suitable for installation in new or existing buildings where smoke control is a requirement.
